Kate Spade Skirt

It is finally starting to cool down here in Tejas! And by cool down, I mean it's in the 60's or 70's. But hey, I'll take what I can get. So my mom recently went on a trip to California, and when she came back, she surprised me with this GORGEOUS Kate Spade skirt. I love it. It fits perfectly! The colors are perfect for fall. And who wants to guess where she bought it?? TJ Maxx! I know a lot of people who don't like shopping there, but I can always find some great deals. This is an outfit that I wore to church (Typical Mormon outfit? I think so..) seeing as I don't have all that many occasions to dress up.

My EXCELLENT Halloween Costume

It's that time of year again. This year, my best friend Rebecca and I decided we wanted to do a costume together. This is what we came up with. (Sorry the picture is so crummy)

Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. (If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it.)
If you don't have a Halloween costume yet, this is a super easy one to do! I didn't even have to buy anything for it. Here is a list of the things you need.
Wayne:
Black shirt
Ripped jeans
Black Converse
Black Wayne's World hat
Straigh black hair wig or your own hair

Garth:
Aerosmith t-shirt (or any band t-shirt really)
Blue plaid flannel button up
Ripped jeans
Black Converse
A pair of drumsticks
Classic nerd glasses
Blonde wig or your own hair

I just teased my hair to make it look messy and frizzy like Garth's.

I hope everyone has a happy Halloween! Party on.

Sunny September

It's a little ironic that I'm writing this blog post today because it has been pouring all day. But, it was sunny the day I took these pictures. I know it is officially fall now, but it certainly doesn't feel that way in Texas. This outfit is sort of my last hurrah in summer fashion. Just look how cute this dress is! It's so flowy and whimsical. And I absolutely love my flower headband. It gives a nice pop to any outfit. The cardigan I'm wearing is SO soft and comfy. It's light enough to wear in summer but can also transition nicely into fall. Especially since it won't actually get cold here until November. I hope everyone has a nice fall!

Ok.. I just had to put this last one. My dear friend Katie (different Katie from my sister-in-law who is also conveniently a photographer) decided it would be funny to throw something at me while we were taking pictures. This was my honest to goodness reaction.

SQUASH BLOSSON AND SPUNK

I finally did it. I swallowed my pride and ignored my hesisation... I'm writing my first blog post! I predict that with my luck, a total of 3 people (including my mom and grandma) will read this. If you are that one other person, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Anyways.. I live in Texas and it's still hitting 100 degress every day. However, I adore fall and I'm trying to embrace fall fashion while beating the heat. This is one of my classic transition outfits. The kimono jacket just feels like fall. The material is light and flowy so I'm not dying every time I walk outside.
The lovely squash blosson necklace is an antique that my grandma got from a Native American reservation. Thanks for your rockin' style contributions, Grandma Jayne!

Just a little side note.. Every time I see the picture above, I think "Wow, I really look like a Scandanavian man! How come nobody ever told me this??"

All I have to say is..... New blogger and it shows. But I will learn. Big shout out to my darling sister-in-law Katie for being my photographer and graphic designer!
